Carmen Samoila
Bio
Carmen is a Calgary-based visual artist whose practice moves fluidly between landscape oil painting, figurative drawing, and experimental photography. Her work explores atmosphere, memory, and emotional resonance. Guided by observation and intuition, she builds layered surfaces that balance structure and spontaneity. During the Calgary Art Walk, visitors can expect to see finished landscapes, expressive figurative drawings, works in progress, and experimental photographic processes. Her studio will be open and active, offering insight into her process through live demonstrations and the evolving rhythm of a working creative space.

Parking Considerations: Access to the studio is via the side walkway of the home. There is a short concrete stair section at the beginning of the path. The remainder of the walkway is older concrete slab and slightly narrow in areas, but it is stable and well-maintained. Entry to the downstairs studio includes a short interior staircase.
