Living close to the Canadian Rockies, the mountains and trees are a continual source of inspiration for Andrea’s paintings.
For the past two years, she has been developing a new style that is inspired by Kintsugi Art which is the art of mending broken pottery with gold. It is said that the mended pieces are more valuable and beautiful than the original. Andrea resonated with the concept at a very deep level and wanted to carry that over into her paintings. She began to use gold leaf to create the impression of healed fracture lines in her paintings. It is Andrea’s hope that her Kintsugi paintings will radiate hope and encouragement.
